BUILDING PROJECT UPDATE ~ The Lord has blessed us with total receipts into the Building Fund of $400,002.42, as of March 25th. Thanks be to God! With (somewhat) consistently warmer weather we will be seeing the contractors advancing the concrete and masonry work for our education wing over the next two to three weeks, installation of interior steel framing and load bearing walls, roof structure framing, insulation and roofing will follow to get the building weathered in. We have selected interior finishes so those materials can be ordered and the contractor has warehoused much of the material (roof framing, door frames, mechanical equipment, etc.) that will be installed following completion of the masonry construction. Because of the long weather delay, our construction completion date of April 30, 2018 will not be met – but our General Contractor has indicated his understanding of our need to get settled into the building before the 2018-2019 school year and will work toward that goal. If you have further questions, please speak with Gary Clack, Building Committee Chairman.
NEW STOVE UPDATE ~ At the February Voters’ Meeting, the Voters’ Assembly approved the purchase of a new commercial stove for the kitchen. The stove has now been installed and was used for the first time this morning for Easter breakfast. The total cost of the stove including installation was $3925.10 and as of March 25th, special contributions of $2595.00 has been received towards covering that cost ($1330.10 short of covering the cost). If you would like to contribute to the stove, special gift envelopes are available on the table in the narthex.
