ADVENT RECEPTION ~ Pastor and Katie Schuermann would like to say “Blessed Advent” to all of you by providing the refreshments on Sunday morning, December 3rd, in the parish hall. Please join us!
NATIVITY WALK ~ At the same time as Pastor and Katie’s reception, you are invited to view the nativity set collections displayed by fellow members.
SEMINARY GIFT CARD DRIVE ~ Help provide for seminary students and families in Fort Wayne! Bring in $10, $20, or $25 gift cards and deposit in the box on the narthex table. Stores such as Walmart, Target, Meijer, Sears, J.C. Penney, Macy’s, Walgreens; restaurants such as Outback, Olive Garden, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, Red Robin, Texas Roadhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Subway, etc.. Please bring them in by end of day on Sunday, 12/3.
DECEMBER YOUTH EVENTS ~ Opportunities for time together abound in December! On 12/16 JH and HS youth meet for our regular Saturday Youth Night from 6-8pm. Then on 12/23 all are invited to the Lash’s house for our Christmas Movie Marathon from 2-7pm. Lastly, HS youth will meet for a progressive dinner on 12/30 from 5:30-8pm. Friends are welcome at all events! Sign-up today!
YOUTH SPONSORED ADVENT DINNER ~ The youth will serve dinner on 12/20. Please sign-up to donate items needed for baked potato bar and sides.
POINSETTIA ORDER FORM ~ Red order forms are available on the table in the narthex. Deadline to order is 12/10. Please make checks payable to Craig Schultz.
ANGEL TREE ~ If you took an angel from the angel tree, please return the wrapped gifts by Wednesday, 12/13 so they can be picked up in time for distribution to the children.
LESSONS & CAROLS ~ Mark your calendars! On 12/17 at 6 p.m. will be the Service of Lessons & Carols and our renowned dessert smorgasbord!
FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE PRACTICES ~ All students in preschool through high school are encouraged to participate in this year’s Family Christmas Eve Service on 12/24 at 6:00 p.m. If you have not already confirmed your child’s participation with Betsy, please speak with her as soon as possible. Practices start today and continue the next two Sundays from 11:30-1:00. Please send along a lunch or snack for your child. Questions or concerns? Please speak with Betsy.
PEW SISTERS ~ Looking for sisterly fellowship in the church? Interested in stimulating conversation about theology and how it applies to our daily lives? Then the Pew Sisters book group might be just for you. We meet the last Tuesday evening of every month from 7 to 9 PM in peoples’ homes. Starting in January, we will be reading and discussing the book Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up? by Matthew Richard. CAMP CILCA BANQUET ~ You are invited to the Camp CILCA Annual Banquet from 5-8 p.m. on January 28, 2018 at the fellowship hall of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Springfield. The evening includes musical entertainment, dinner, and guest presenter Rev. Dr. Joel Heck who will speak about the importance of Creation for Christian faith and life. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased from the camp office at 217-415-2311 or camp@cilca.org. Child care will also be available for $5.
