ADULT INSTRUCTION CLASS ~ An Adult Instruction class in the basic Christian teachings will begin on Thursday, October 4th. Are you interested? Do you know someone you could invite? This class will prepare you for receiving the Lord’s Supper in the fellowship of this congregation, but also is great for basic evangelism and for a refresher!
SPECIAL ICE MAKER OFFERING ~ There is a special envelope in your mailbox for the purpose of raising funds for an ice maker. The cost is approximately $2,000 and we will need to raise the funds before the item will be purchased. Thank you in advance of any help you may be able to give.
BAKE SALE ~ Friends in Faith will have their annual bake sale next Sunday, 9/30 after Divine Service. Pies, cakes, cookies, breads, cupcakes as well as Lois Ann’s Apple Business, Anna May’s sugar cookies, and Joan’s fall mason jars will be available. Proceeds are donated to charities at the end of the year.
INVEST WITH A PURPOSE! ~ The Central Illinois District Church Extension Fund (CID-CEF) partners investors who wish to help grow God’s ministry with churches seeking to build or expand. Because our church obtained financing for its building project through the CID-CEF, the CID-CEF is offering a special interest rate of 1.5% for a 2-year investment certificate ($500 minimum) to our congregation and her members. HIKE FOR BABIES ~ Come out to support Beerlahai Roi Women’s Ministries, a local shelter for homeless pregnant women, on 10/6 at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Park. The “Hike” is a 1-mile stroll around the park loop. Pledge sheets are available in the narthex; pledges and donations can be turned in at the event.
YOUTH READING THROUGH JOHN ~ Join Pastor Schuermann and other High School Youth of the congregation on Wednesday evenings at 8 p.m. We continue in John 6 this Wednesday. If you want to catch up it’s only about 20 minutes of reading John 1-5 to do so!
SENIOR LUNCHEON ~ Please sign up to help with the luncheon which is being held this Wednesday, 9/26, at noon.
DIAPER SNIPER WARS ~ Jr. High Youth, get ready for a fun night battling each other in the Diaper Sniper Wars on 9/29 from 7-8:30 p.m.! This game is a mixture of Capture the Flag and Nerf Wars. Friends are welcome to join us! Sign-up by 9/27.
