ANNOUNCEMENTS
ADULT INSTRUCTION CLASS ~ An Adult Instruction class in the basic Christian teachings will begin on Thursday, September 27th. Are you interested? Do you know someone you could invite? This class will prepare you for receiving the Lord’s Supper in the fellowship of this congregation, but also is great for basic evangelism and for a refresher!
CONFIRMATION INSTRUCTION BEGINS IN LATE SEPTEMBER ~ Instruction for any youth members of the congregation who is in 5th or 6th grade will begin on Sunday, September 30th. Instruction for those to be confirmed this year will be on a separate schedule.
HIKE FOR BABIES ~ Come out to support Beerlahai Roi Women’s Ministries, a local shelter for homeless pregnant women, on 10/6 at 10:00 a.m. at Lincoln Park. The “Hike” is a 1-mile stroll around the park loop. Pledge sheets are available in the narthex; pledges and donations can be turned in at the event.
LUTHERAN HIGH TRIVIA NIGHT ~ On Friday, 9/21 at 7 p.m., bring your smarts at Trinity Lutheran School in Springfield. A sign-up sheet is available on the bulletin board. Doors open at 6 p.m.
YOUTH READING THROUGH JOHN ~ Come and join Pastor Schuermann and other High School Youth of the congregation on Wednesday evenings at 8 p.m. We continue in John 6 this Wednesday. If you want to catch up it’s only about 20 minutes of reading John 1-4 to do so!
SENIOR LUNCHEON ~ Please sign up to help with the luncheon which is being held on Wednesday, 9/26, at noon.
DIAPER SNIPER WARS ~ Jr. High Youth, get ready for a fun night battling each other in the Diaper Sniper Wars on 9/29 from 7-8:30 p.m.! This game is a mixture of Capture the Flag and Nerf Wars. Friends are welcome to join us! Sign-up by 9/27.
CAMP CILCA NEEDS YOUR VOTE ~ The camp is nominated for Illinois Times’best camp for kids category. You may vote online at www.illinoistimes.com/bestofspringfield from 9/13 to 9/24. CILCA is in the “Arts, Culture, and Entertainment” section, under the subsection “Camp for Kids” (scroll down or select the subsection in the left column to find the voting list).
