PASTOR SCHUERMANN ON VACATION ~ Pastor will be on vacation from 7/16 through 7/25. Pastor Hennig (622-4433) and Pastor Janssen (416-7999) will be available for pastoral emergencies. They will then contact Pastors Bahr or Theilen for ongoing care, as necessary.
CHURCH DIRECTORY PHOTOS ~ A photo session will be offered on August 14th. All of those who are pictured in the Directory (whether new photo this time or reusing from last time) will receive an updated photo directory. If you would like to schedule a time or for alternate sites and times to have your photo taken, please see Glenn Strasburg after service this morning. SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN SINGING ~ Preschool through 5th grade children will be singing during the Divine Service on Sunday, 8/5. Please, deliver your children to the pews in front of the organ that morning by 8:40 for warm-ups. Thank you!
SPECIAL BANNER FOR BUILDING DEDICATION ~ Children, will you give us a hand? Or two? We are making a special banner to commemorate the completion of our building project, and we would like to trace your hands to use as leaves to adorn a tree on the banner. Interested? Come to our tracing station in the narthex after church on the following two Sundays: August 5th and 11th. Thank you!
SPRINGFIELD RIGHT TO LIFE ~ A basket is now available in the Narthex for those wanting to donate pony beads for a display that Right to Life will have at the Illinois State Fair in August.
JUNIOR ALTAR GUILD~Are you a daughter of this congregation? Do you want to learn more about how to care for the candles, flowers, banners, paraments, and vessels in the chancel? Then join the ladies of the altar guild in the sanctuary from 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, August 4th, to learn how to set the altar for the Divine Service. Cookies will be served afterward. See the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex for details.
THEATER IN THE PARK ~Our August first weekend event takes us to New Salem to see the musical “Oliver!” The show is on 8/3 at 8 p.m. In order to qualify for the group rate of $12/ticket, we will need to have at least 10 people in our group. Sign-up today!
JULY YOUTH EVENT ~The Jr. High youth are invited to come over to the Lash’s house for a pool party on 7/29 from 1:00-3:30 p.m. Bring a towel and a snack to share! Sign-up today!
YOUTH READING THROUGH JOHN ~Come and join Pastor Schuermann and other High School Youth (just out of 8th grade through just-graduated Seniors) of the congregation on Wednesday evenings at 8 p.m. (We will resume on Wednesday, August 1st!)
