LET’S READ JOHN’S GOSPEL TOGETHER ~ Starting this week, Monday–Friday on the Devotions side of the Blue Sheet will be dedicated to reading through the Gospel of John. Let’s do this together. Please take time to read through this Gospel with everyone in your household throughout the week, and we’ll all end up reading it together!
CHURCH DIRECTORY INTEREST SIGN-UP ~ It’s time to do an update for our church pictorial directory. We need to gauge interest in having pictures taken/retaken. There’s an interest sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Please sign up by Sunday, June 17th so we can schedule if there’s enough interest.
EVENING DIVINE SERVICE SURVEY ~ The Board of Elders has mailed out a survey to the entire congregation. The survey is studying the need in the congregation for either a Sunday or Saturday evening service. We’d like to hear from as many households of the congregation as possible! Please return your household surveys by Sunday, June 10th.
CHURCH COOKOUT, JULY 7th ~Join us at our next potluck and cookout for an evening of fun! Burgers and hotdogs will be provided. Please bring a side or dessert to share. We’ll get started around 5pm. Weather permitting, we will be outside, so please bring a lawn game to play if you have one. Please sign up and be there!
THEATER IN THE PARK ~ Our August first weekend event takes us to New Salem to see the musical “Oliver!” The show is on 8/3 at 8 p.m. In order to qualify for the group rate of $12/ticket, we will need to have at least 10 people in our group by 7/3. Sign-up today!
NO DIVINE SERVICE WEDNESDAY, 6/27 ~ Due to Vacation Bible School, no mid-week Divine Service will be offered on Wednesday, June 27th.
LIFTED UP VBS ~ Join us June 24-28 from 6-8 p.m. Children ages 3 through those entering 6th grade are encouraged to takeoff on this awesome adventure where we will learn about five Bible stories focusing on some of the “lifting up” in Scripture. Register online at gsslcms.org/vbs/ or pick up a form in the Parish Hall. Volunteers are also needed: Speak to Betsy or find a form in the Parish Hall. We will have a volunteer training meeting on 6/14 at 7 p.m.
VBS WORK NIGHTS AND DONATIONS ~ There is much to prepare before our Lifted Up VBS begins on June 24. Work nights will continue each Thursday at 7 p.m. until all the projects are completed. A donations list of items we would like to borrow or need is posted. If you would like to make a monetary donation to help cover snack expenses, you may give that to Betsy.
JUNE YOUTH EVENT ~ Our next Saturday Youth Night will be on 6/16 from 6-8 p.m. Come for dinner, a devotion, and games!
