ANNOUNCEMENTS

NOW BOARDING FOR LIFTED UP VBS ~ Join us June 24-28 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Children ages 3 through those entering 6th grade are encouraged to takeoff on this awesome adventure where we will learn about five Bible stories focusing on some of the “lifting up” in Scripture. Students will fly deep into God’s Word through music, crafts, games, snacks, and drama! Register online at gsslcms.org/vbs/ or pick up a form in the Parish Hall. Volunteers are also needed:speak to Betsy or find a form in the Parish Hall.

NEW STOVE UPDATE ~ The total cost of the stove including installation was $3925.10and as of April 8, special contributions of $2945.00have been received towards covering that cost ($980.10 short of covering the cost) If you would like to contribute to cover the cost of the new stove, special gift envelopes are available on the table in the narthex.

VBS WORK NIGHTS~ There is much to prepare before our Lifted Up VBS begins on June 24. Work nights will continue each Thursday at 7 p.m. until all the projects are completed.

SENIOR LUNCHEON ~ We will host the monthly community senior luncheon here at Good Shepherd on 4/25 at noon. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board for helping to serve and/or providing pies for dessert. Let’s all help to provide this service to our community!

EVENING DIVINE SERVICE SURVEY ~The Board of Elders will be mailing out a survey to the entire congregation in late April. The survey is studying the need in the congregation for either a Sunday or Saturday evening service. Please look for this survey letter in the mail, discuss and consider it in your household, and then return the survey. An online option will also be available. We’d like to hear from as many households of the congregation as possible! The Board of Elder will be studying and discussing this throughout the summer.

MILITARY BIBLESTICK SPECIAL OFFERING ~ A special offering will be taken on Sunday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 25, to provide funds to the Military Biblestick project run by Faith Comes By Hearing. This project is able to provide electronic audio bibles (ESV) to soldiers at a cost of $25 each. A sample of the Biblestick is on the table in the narthex. Our goal is to receive enough money to cover 25 Biblesticks – $625. In the month of April, a donor is matching all gifts received by Faith Comes By Hearing, so we will double our gift’s impact! If writing a check please make it out to Good Shepherd with Military Biblestick on the memo line.

CINCO DE MAYO PARTY ~ All are welcome to gather together for a mexican food potluck and games on May 5th at 5 p.m. A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the narthex.

MINI GOLF ~ All high school youth are invited to play a round of mini golf at Knights Action Park on 4/21 from 1-3:30 p.m. The cost for this event is $6.75 for one round of golf. Sign-up today!

ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN DONATION ~ Friends in Faith are collecting items for this Lutheran organization. Some items needed are: towels, washcloths, toothbrushes, crayons, pens, pencils, and notebooks. Please put your donations in the boxes in the Narthex by Sunday, 4/22. Friends in Faith will transport the items to the CID LWML Convention on 4/28.
