THE REVELATION TO ST. JOHN BIBLE STUDY ~ Beginning Sunday, January 28, Pastor will be leading a study of Revelation in the Adult Scripture Study on Sunday mornings. We’ll learn what comfort this book of the Bible is for us, and how a whole lot of what you hear about it in Christian media misses the mark.
PROGRESSIVE DINNER FOR ADULTS ~ All adults are invited to attend the annual progressive dinner on Saturday, January 13th. We will start at 5 pm at Perry & Nadine Kraft’s home (25 Cabin Smoke Trail at the Rail) with appetizers and at 6:45 we will go to the church fellowship hall for dessert and a $15 “nice gift” exchange. Sign up sheet is in the narthex. If you have questions, please call Joan Dannewitz 899-0141.
DODGEBALL ~ Jr. High Youth, let’s play dodgeball on 1/13 from 3-5 pm! We’ll also enjoy an ice cream sundae. Please bring $2 and invite a friend! Sign-up by 1/12.
TRIVIA FUNDRAISER ~ All are invited to play a fun game of trivia on 1/26 beginning at 7pm. The cost to play is $10/person and all funds received will benefit the youth groups. Please sign-up by 1/24.
SATURDAY YOUTH NIGHT ~ Jr. High and High School Youth are encouraged to attend the January Youth Night on 1/27 from 6-8pm. We’ll share a meal together, a devotion, and play some games! Sign-up by 1/27 at noon.
PRESCHOOL NEWS – Did you know members of Good Shepherd receive priority preschool registration for the 2018-19 school year? If you are interested in enrolling your child in one of our programs, you have until February 20. Please contact Mindy at 496-3149 to receive additional details and paperwork.
Tickets are on sale now for the Camp CILCA Annual Banquet ~ Sunday, January 28, from 5-8pm at the fellowship hall of Our Savior’s Lutheran in Springfield. The night will include music, dinner, and guest speaker Rev Dr. Joel Heck presenting on the importance of God’s act of creation. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by emailing or calling the CILCA office at camp@cilca.org or 217-415-2311. Childcare will also be available for $5.
LLL ANNUAL MEETING ON TWO KINGDOMS ~ Reverend Gregory Seltz, Executive Director of the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty, and Congressman John Shimkus will team up to discuss “The Two Kingdoms and the role of a Christian in the Political Process” at the upcoming Lutheran Layman’s League Annual Meeting March 17th. St John’s Lutheran in Champaign will host. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. More details and registration information will be forthcoming.

FAMILY FEUD ~ On Friday, February 2nd at 6:00 p.m. you are invited to participate in the game of Family Feud. This event is open to all- if your family is small, feel free to team together with another family! Bring a snack/appetizer or dessert to share; pizza will be provided for dinner. Help is also needed in completing the survey for the game. Get a copy of the survey today after service, fill it out, and either give it to Betsy or put it in her mailbox by 1/28.
