NOVEMBER VOTERS’ MEETING ~ The regular November Voters’ Meeting will be held Sunday evening, 11/19, at 6:30 p.m.
ADVENT RECEPTION ~ Pastor and Katie Schuermann would like to say “Blessed Advent” to all of you by providing the refreshments in the fellowship hall on Sunday, Dec. 3. Please join us!
NATIVITY WALK ~ On Sunday, Dec. 3, you are invited to view the nativity set collections displayed by fellow members. If you would like to display a nativity, you may set up on Sat. December 2, between 9-11 am.
SEMINARY GIFT CARD DRIVE ~ Help provide for seminary students and families in Fort Wayne! Bring in $10, $20, or $25 gift cards and deposit in this box. Stores such as Walmart, Target, Meijer, Sears, J.C. Penney, Macy’s, Walgreens; restaurants such as Outback, Olive Garden, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, Red Robin, Texas Roadhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings, Subway, etc. are best, as they can definitely be used in Fort Wayne. Please bring them in by Sunday, December 3rd!
YOUTH DOODLE SCHEDULING SURVEYS ~ Please respond to the December youth event scheduling surveys by 11/20 so that information can be put in the December newsletter.
YOUTH SPONSORED ADVENT DINNER ~ The youth will serve dinner on 12/20. Please sign-up to donate items needed for baked potato bar and sides.
FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE PRACTICES ~ All students in preschool through high school are encouraged to participate in this year’s Family Christmas Eve Service on 12/24 at 6:00 p.m. If you have not already confirmed your child’s participation with Betsy, please speak with her as soon as possible. Practices will be held on 12/3, 12/10, and 12/17 from 11:30-1:00. Please send along a lunch or snack for your child. Questions or concerns? Please speak with, call, or email Betsy.
GAME NIGHT & WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE ~ Bring your favorite board game and join us for our next game night on 12/1 at 6 p.m. Pizza will be served for dinner, please bring a side or dessert to share. We’ll also have a white elephant gift exchange- see the sign-up sheet for more info!
PEW SISTERS ~ Looking for sisterly fellowship in the church? Interested in stimulating conversation about theology and how it applies to our daily lives? Then the Pew Sisters book group might be just for you. We meet the last Tuesday evening of every month from 7 to 9 PM in peoples’ homes. Starting in January, we will be reading and discussing the book Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up? by Matthew Richard. SUNDAY NIGHT BOOK CLUB ~ The next book we’ll be reading and discussing together is Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. We’ll start meeting to discuss on Sunday, December 10th. Lewis lays out a rational case for the Christian faith. The chief benefit of this book is in modeling for us how to begin to think clearly about what we believe and how to defend it.
